Contovello is an enchanting village on the cliff, 17 minutes away by car or scooter from the seafront in Trieste. The house is over 200 years old and has been lovingly restored with many original features, and is furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces, and original art from all over the world. The house is in the main street, 50 meters from the churchyard, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the bay of Trieste, Slovenia, and Croatia beyond. Free parking is available nearby. Please note there is a steep staircase, so the house is not ideal for small children or guests with limited mobility. The single bedroom has limited privacy as the master bedroom is accessed through it. There is a small outdoor seating area in the plant lined passageway to the rear of the house, which is not private, but a good way to meet the friendly locals. There are other houses close by so it is not suitable for any group that wants to party late at night. Quiet hours are from 23h to 07h.

I live in the village, only 50 metres away from the house and I love helping guests get the most out of their holiday. I am originally from the UK and have lived in many countries. I have been in Italy since 2018.

Contovello is a medieval fishing village, only 10 minutes walk from Prosecco, the town where the wine with the same name originates. The village is an enchanting maze of tiny streets and archways, set above vineyards that slope down to the sea. You can find everything you need in Prosecco including restaurants, bars, mini market, post office, greengrocer, fishmonger and more. You can walk down to Miramare Castle and the beach, it takes 20 minutes to get down but longer to get back up!
