Bugnara is a lovely medieval village voted one of the most beautiful in Italy. It has several amenities, 2 grocer shops, one post office, hairdressers, 2 bars, 2 restaurants within walking distance and a chemist. The much larger town of Sulmona wihich has many facilities and supermarkets is only 8 minutes away. Bugnara hosts several festivals during the summer months, the biggest being the Romantica which starts at 7am and goes most of the night. Thousands of people come to this festival with differnt bands happening throughout the village and lots of amazing entertainment and Abruzzo food. Bugnara is less than an hour from the sea and less than half an hour to the ski resorts. There are many hiking tracks, cycling and other activities to do.

I am a New Zealander living in Abruzzo for many years. I so love this part of Italy and love even more meeting and greeting people. I love to paint images of this region and have had several successful exhibtions.

Brgnara is situated in the hills around the valley Pelegna. There is so much to do and see in this area such as hiking and the many festivals in the nearby villages. Lake Scanno isn't that far away, approx 20 minutes, a great swimmig place in summer. There are also several ski resorts less than half an hour away, so we are quite central with Rome being only two hours away.
