Castelletto di Montebenichi is a 12th-century castle with frescoed walls and a garden. Welcome to the Castelletto di Montebenichi, a tiny hamlet on a hill top in the south-eastern border of Chianti, for an out-of-time stay. A perfect spot for visiting Tuscany, half-way between Siena and Arezzo. The Castelletto offer four independent apartments with all modern amenities. Each unit can host a maximum of three guests. At a few steps in the park guests can enjoy a swimming pool, a barbecue and a gym along with a marvellous view over the surrounding hills and the valley. The Castelletto has no restaurant, but around the corner a wonderful “trattoria” called “L’Orciaia” offers tasty traditional Tuscan dishes. Unfortunately there are no shops in Montebenichi but a "welcome basket" meets the guests in order to satisfy their first needs.

Neighborhood info

From Montebenichi, Chianti road tracks wind around woods, olive groves and vineyards and take you to medieval villages and imposing castles. Along the roads wineries that offer guided tours with tasting of wine, oil and other local produce. If you are wine enthusiasts, why not to travel south west to Montalcino, a well-known area for its important Brunello wine, or south east to Montepulciano where it is possible to taste the no less well known Vino Nobile? With an easy drive it is possible to reach many cities of art such as Siena, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni and Cortona. Slightly south of Montebenichi, the "val d'Orcia" and the land of the "Crete Senesi" offer extraordinary, unique views. Florence, or even Perugia, Assisi and Orvieto in Umbria are at about one hour drive.
