This achievement represents a milestone in our commitment towards environmental protection. With our daily work we accomplish more than 20 criteria of environmental sustainability: 100% of energy coming from renewable sources; energy efficiency due to energy saving measurements; showers and sinks with reduced water use; no throwaway products; recycled paper only; still water in returnable glass bottles; biodegradable shampoo, shower gel and detergents with Ecolabel certificate; use of services suppliers Ecolabel certified. We are proud to be the second tourist accommodation in the Majella National Park and the fourth in Abruzzo to be awarded with Ecolabel certificate.

Our grandfather Elia started the business Da Oreste in the thirties, exactly in the same place where Da Oreste Affitacamere currently is. At the beginning it was a wine shop, after a while it became a lodging house. During the war the premises were destroyed and then rebuilt by our uncle and our father as a real hotel with a bar, an ice-cream parlor and a good restaurant where all the wedding receptions of the village were held. Today we want to carry on the family tradition with Da Oreste Affittacamere: a place totally restructured in 2015 where you can relax in a comfortable location enjoying a family atmosphere in the heart of Abruzzo.

Fara San Martino is a historic small village located close to Majella Mountain: it is the gateway to a National Park. It is part of Borghi Autentici d’Italia Association and has been awarded the “Orange Flag” by the National Touring Club which recognizes it as a unique and valuable part of our Italian heritage. Lots of activities are possible inside The Majella National Park, all surrounded by a unique landscape: a seven hundred km mountain track organized in different levels of difficulty; several shelters to sleep in, in case you choose one of the longest hikes; ski zones which give you the spectacular experience of viewing the sea while skiing; climbing zones near the Gole of San Martino, one of the most important Italian canyons with over 60 routes organized in 5 sectors; pic-nic areas very close to the stream Verde.
