We’d like you to get to know the real Tuscany: from the unique flavours of our products to the peacefulness of our rooms, with their terracotta ceilings and cozy antique wood furnishings. Their windows look out towards the majestic towers of San Gimignano and gentle hills covered with Vernaccia vines, centuries-old olive trees and forests of ilex and cypress trees.

The Abbey of Monte Oliveto lies a stone’s throw from the town of San Gimignano, along the Via Francigena, the ancient route that as early as in the Middle Ages was travelled by pilgrims who were making their way to Rome from Northern Europe. The Abbey, surrounded by century-old olive trees and vineyards of Vernaccia vines, was built in 1340 by Olivetan monks. The 35 hectares that lie around the Abbey have now given rise to the Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Farm. Since 1982 the Zonin family has concentrated on recuperating the pre-existing vineyards and olive groves. The Zonins have also refurbished the winery and the farmhouse, located on the top of a hill that also faces San Gimignano, which contains seven comfortable apartments. For the use of guests there is a fully furnished garden, a swimming pool, a car park, a Wi-Fi area and a sales outlet for the estate’s products: wine and olive oil of premium quality.

San Gimignano is a unique city, full of charm and history, in 1990 became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's situated in the heart of Tuscany, halfway between Florence and Siena. It stands on a hill about 300 meters and enjoys a privileged view of the surrounding territory. In the 13th century the city was embellished with seventy towers, which were built by the richest families to show their power. It was the century of greater economic development, thanks to the trade of local products, such as saffron and Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Today fourteen towers characterize the city center and get a unique profile of San Gimignano, known as the "city of the beautiful towers".

A first set of bed linen and towels, electricity and final cleaning are included for stays of up to 6 days. Bed linen are changed and cleaning is done every week for guests staying a minimum of 10 nights. The kitchenette should be left clean, failure to do so might result in an extra cleaning fee.
