The tourist tradition of Varazze dates back over a century and this little town on the sea offers the best of the “Riviera delle Palme” (Palm Tree Riviera). The climate is mild in all four seasons. Not only does Varazze have a marvellous blue sea, but also a beautiful hinterland with breath-taking panoramic areas and enjoyable trekking paths. During all these years “Genovese al Mare” has been a witness and a protagonist of the history of Italy's road bicycle racing. From the beginning of the XIX century onwards champions like Gerbi, Ganna, the Azzimis, Girardengo, Guerra, Binda, Fausto Coppi, his brother Serse and all the Bianchi team chose the “Genovese al Mare”and Varazze for their intensive trainings and for family holidays. Illustrious personalities visited our hotel, among them the Crespis, Aga Kan Karim, Gianni Brera, Ruggero Radice, Walter Chiari, Aroldo Tieri, Laura Adani and cav. Angelo Rizzoli, a pioneer of Italian cinematography.
