The house was the residence of my grandparents and in the past 2 years we spent a lot of time in restoring it. The result is a fascinating and cosy house with some innovative materials and with the warm looking of wood. The house in is the real heart of wild side of Garfagnana, just above the "roccandagia" mountains and at 2 km from the Vagli's lake (one of the biggest artificial lake in Italy) with the "tibetan bridge" only for fearless people!!!
I live in Castelnuovo Garfagnana (30 min, from Vagli) and I'm married with Antonella. We have a 6 months age daughter named Linda. My interesting (extra-job) is for wood, from the forest to the finished furniture) I restored most of the furniture in the house.
The real must see of my area is "Campocatino", an incredible and unexpected green grass field ad the roots of ROCCANDAGIA peak. In the middle a very small church dedicated to "Saint Viviano" that lived in the area in the past. Of course you can anjod Vagli's lake with the tibetan bridge and fascinating shores. Ypu can start a very interesting lakes tour: starting from Vagli you can see in less than 3 hours Vagli's lake, Gramolazzo's Lake, Pontecosi's lake, Villa's lake, Vicaglia's lake. Vagli's lake is the greatest and following there are Gramolazzo (very close) and Pontecosi. Near to Vagli (25 minutes car) there is also a small vulcanic lake: in Pieve Fosciana a round-shaped lake has a natural fount of hot water ( 38° Degrees). Another place to see is Orecchiella National Park: you can see several animals like bears and deer. But all Garfagnana can offer to you some unexpected panorama and leave you breathless!
