La Bugia del Sensale develops on two levels. The old shed, on the ground floor, now becomes a large and cozy lounge, which houses a large fireplace made of reclaimed wood beams and serene stone, a 'spacious and cool space where you can relax and through which you can reach the small courtyard tiled in terra cotta and decorated with aromatic plants and flowers. On the first floor is the dining room with a fully equipped kitchen. On the same floor are the three rooms, all furnished with the identity of the place, with original furniture and relying on the beauty of Tuscan craftsmanship. The beds were in fact made by a local artisan carpentry, using reclaimed oak wood. The doors, as well as the fixtures represent the Tuscan style and the wardrobe niches have been created showing the original stone wall. All rooms have private bathrooms decorated with glazed terra cotta tiles from a local kiln, as well as the hand basin and the light points of the house. Each room also offers: Smart TV, Hairdryer, Mini Bar, Kettle, air conditioning and heating on the ground.

La Bugia del Sensale was born in April 2018, from the repurchase and renovation of the house where my grandfather, the Sensale, lived. He was the guarantor in the livestock trade in the peasant culture. Here he came home every night in a dusty shirt and soaked in the smell of his animals. In the shed rested his beasts toghether with the buggy he used to move between the white streets of the Chianti countryside. Together with Alessandro we decided to recover this place of our roots and give it a new life, to share and make you taste the essence of our beloved land. Starting from the contact with nature, to the visit of historical places, Tuscany and in particular Chianti offer the opportunity to live your time in harmony with the sinuous lines of a varied and evocative landscape. The greatest satisfaction for us is to be able to share our passions and our culture with the people we meet, the exchange that naturally creates is the greatest enrichment moving and nourishing our small and young adventure.

La Bugia del Sensale is today a small welcome corner inserted in an architectural complex prior to 1800. Surrounded by the soft hills of Chianti, it overlooks the characteristic medieval village of San Donato in Poggio and the monastery of the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, among the most precious Mannerist testimonies of religious architecture of the Florentine countryside. La Bugia del Sensale is located in a strategic position halfway between Florence and Siena, in the heart of Chianti, a few minutes drive you can in fact reach the most characteristic villages: Panzano in Chianti, Greve in Chianti, Badia a Passignano, Radda in Chianti, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Certaldo etc. For those who at the end of the day were tired of using the car, it’s possible to reach on foot, with a 10-minute walk, every service that the village offers: Food with local products, one of the best butchers in the area, Bars, restaurants, pizzerias, pharmacy, supermarket and stationery.
