Neighborhood info

There is no definite information on the origins of the town. It is supposed that Maritime was founded or otherwise inhabited by Messapi , which has suffered the same fate of neighboring countries , such as Vast , Diso and Castro passing under the control of the Romans and before the Byzantines, Normans and Angevins later . Located in the Salento , between the centers of Castro , Andrano and Diso . The part of the country overlooking the coast is called Marina di Marittima and known as Acquaviva , one of the most beautiful bays in Apulia .
