The Ponte Vecchio is just 3 min walk with its jewelries. From here you can cross the river Arno and in 2 min get to the Uffizi and Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio. another 5min walk thrugh the fashionable streets of the center andyou arrive to the Duomo with the Cupola of Brunelleschi and the Battistero with the bronze doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti. THE RENOVATION: The building is made of a house and part of a tower, then united to form the actual building, originally built the the years 1400. During the renovation we have discovered and brought back to life the original wooden ceiling built with a specific technique used in the past called "cassettone". To preserve the original structure we have covered the floors with oak wood, warm and smooth, best way to enjoy it is walking barefoot in the Suite.

The Oltrarno is the part of Florence located on the other side of the river Arno with respect to Palazzo Vecchio, where the Middle Age governors of the city and still todays Major have their offices. The Oltrarno is made of two main quarters: Santo Spirito and San Frediano, both famous for their lively "movida". The Oltrarno is the only part of the city where most of the medioeval city walls are still there, whilst on the other side of the city they where removed in the years 1860 when Florence was the capital of the Italian Kingdom and it needed larger streets for the expanding city to be fitting the model of a "Royal Capital" for its King. At those times the King took its residence in Palazzo Pitti, just 1 min walk for the Passera Royal Suite, which became the Royal Palace. The Passera Royal Suite takes its name after the famous Piazza della Passera, one small square with the best Gelateria in town, the Gelateria della Passera. Definitely worths testing it !
