Mechelli family has been offering hospitality to tourists and pilgrims in Badia Prataglia since the 1950s, since Enrico and Lizia started the tradition by managing the "Bar Vittoria". The homely and benevolent atmosphere of the small restaurant conquered everyone, so much so that in a short time the two young people decided to open a small pension that they looked after with the help of their children for 30 years.
After the marriage with Luciana, the eldest son Giuseppe took over the parents' business, still continuing to manage the "Bar Vittoria" with care and passion. Believing in the infinite possibilities and development of the country, Giuseppe and Luciana have also built a small residence that welcomes tourists, walkers and pilgrims every year attracted by the beauties of the area. The Mechelli family is always ready to accommodate anyone who wants to stay in the "Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi" by offering them an apartment in a residence, a nice plate of risotto with porcini mushrooms, a succulent polenta with venison, a dynamic plate of pappardelle with wild boar and the his specialty which is an apple and walnut cake called by the name of his mother "Torta Lizia"
Badia Prataglia - The gateway to the Casentinesi Forests National Park: Enter and breathe. Leave the rest in the city, so there is no room here for honking, smog or business. The only thing that matters, embraced and protected by these tree walls, is life. You feel its scent, you perceive its movements, you discover it under the last of the leaves or among the highest branches, you feel it flow in the streams of water. If you stop long enough you will feel it flow inside you too. The National Park of the Casentinesi Forests can be visited with pleasant excursions on foot, by mountain bike, on horseback or, in winter, with hiking skis and snowshoes, along the approximately 600 kilometers of the trail network. In addition to the more challenging trekking routes, there are 9 Nature Trails in the Park area
