The property was beautiful with amazing views. It was easy to get to, and even though it was close to Empoli, it had a Tuscan countryside feel. The restaurant food and staff were our favorite.

A Family Rooted in Tuscany and the Valle d’Aosta Since 1350 In 1400, Andruetus Passerini, the founder of a family of Florentine origin, sought refuge in Valtournenche to escape the conflict between the Guelphs and Ghibellines, bringing with him a substantial fortune. Over the next two centuries, the family rose to prominence, securing significant administrative, political, and religious roles. In 1556, SER.ME Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Aosta, conferred noble titles upon the Passerin family. Their fiefdoms included Entrèves, Courmayeur, Brissogne, Escalier, and Fornet in Valgrisenche. Of these, only the first branch of the family endures, with Francesco Passerin d’Entrèves as its current descendant. Francesco, like many of his ancestors, married a Tuscan woman, Veronica. Together, they manage the family business with passion and dedication, blending a deep respect for centuries-old traditions with a forward-looking approach to innovation.

Neighborhood info

The Village of Dianella: A Historic Gem The village of Dianella comprises a handful of houses, the 13th-century church of “S. Michaelis de Aliana,” and the Villa, which was constructed in the late 1500s. In the 1700s, the village became the property of the Marchesi Federighi family and later of the Fucini family. It was here that the poet Renato Fucini composed much of his work, frequently referencing Dianella in his sonnets and penning the short story “A Dianella” within the collection “Foglie al Vento.” In the early 1900s, Dianella was acquired by the Billeri family before passing to the Conti Passerin d’Entrèves e Courmayeur. Today, Francesco and Veronica Passerin d’Entrèves have meticulously restored the entire village, transforming it into an elegant and refined haven. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the timeless charm and warm hospitality that have long defined the villa.
