At 420 meters below sea level, the Mujib Biosphere Reserve is the
lowest nature reserve on Earth, It's rugged and spectacular
mountains border the Dead Sea coast and are dissected by several
river-filled canyons that offer the best river and adventure hikes in
Jordan. Mujib’s complex river system and all-year water flow enable
it to support a rich biodiversity. To date, over 557 species of plants,
18 species of mammals, and numerous species of resident and
migratory birds have been recorded. Some of the mountain and valley
areas are difficult to reach and offer safe havens for rare species of
cats, mountain goats (Nubian Ibex).
Our ‘chalet village’ on the shores of the Madash peninsula provides
chalets with some of the best Dead Sea views along the
coast. Visitors can enjoy private access to the unique salt waters of
the Dead Sea, with its extraordinary medicinal properties.
Each chalet has an uninterrupted sea view, shaded sun terrace, air
conditioning and private bathroom.

Opened in April 2008, Mujib now has a ‘Chalet Village’ on the shores of the Madash peninsula, providing 15 double rooms with some of the best Dead Sea views along the coast. Each chalet has an uninterrupted sea view, shaded sun terrace, air conditioning, private shower, and toilet. The chalets are only a short distance from Mujib Adventures Center and the entrance to the stunning Mujib canyon and river hike. They are therefore an ideal place from which to explore the unique landscape of the Reserve or enjoy the medicinal properties of the Dead Sea.
The chalets open all year round.
Impormasyon ng neighborhood
The breathtaking scenery and the challenge of negotiating Mujib’s
fast-flowing rivers make the reserve one of Jordan’s most popular
natural attractions. Visitors need to have the ability to swim and have
no fear of water and heights. Trails are tough, exciting, and offer
a chance to swim and bathe in the cool, clear waters of the rivers.
Hikers should expect to climb rocks against the water flow and jump
into natural pools.
Water trails are open between April and October, while dry trails are
open from 1st of November till end of March.
*Minimum age for trails is 18 years old.
Alternately, you can hike to other attractions in and around the
reserve, including the Ibex enclosures where a small herd is kept as
breeding stock for future release programs.
Near the reserve, you can visit Qasr Riyashi, a ruined fort of
uncertain date, or a rock formation against the backdrop of the Dead
Sea that is believed to be the famous “statue” of Lot’s wife.
