Hi! We’re Ikuko and Michael, a Japanese–American couple. Over the years, we’ve traveled widely and lived in many different places, but what has always meant the most to us is connecting with people—sharing meals, stories, and everyday moments along the way. We now live in a beautiful countryside village known as the Cradle of Japanese Tea, where tea has been grown for over 800 years. It’s a quiet place, rich in history and surrounded by rolling tea fields. For more than a decade, we’ve welcomed guests to our private guesthouse and have loved meeting travelers from around the world.
