Guest House Tatara is located in the beautiful town of Yasugi and only a short 100m stroll from the tranquil Nakaumi Lake where you can swim, fish, boat or simply take in the view whilst enjoying a lakeside BBQ. This reverse cycle air-conditioned room located on the first floor is one of two that contains 3 double beds, one of which is a couch that can be opened out into a double bed. Sleeping up to 6 people with free wifi, a flat screen TV, sink, kitchen, shower, and washing machine. This property was renovated in 2022 with new floors, plumbing, kitchen & furniture. In 2026 we have recently installed a brand new a modern western style toilet inside the property. The Bedroom has multiple windows able to pick up the breeze from the lake to keep you comfortable throughout your stay. With our free bike rental many restaurants, bars & shops are a short 5-10minute ride away. We also have BBQ rental options available on or offsite. Beneath the Guest house is a Farmers Market bringing in fresh local produce Thursday to Saturday each week (closed July - September)

We are a local family living & working directly next to the Guest House so we are available most of the time to help you out with any issues, problems or requests. Please feel free to ask us any questions you might have about the property or surrounding area. We are passionate about this area & are always working towards the revitalization of Yasugi. We are running a local farmers market on the property bringing local produce directly from farm to table. We are joint partners in a NPO providing skills labor & training to the next generation of farmers. There are so many amazing things to see and do in this area, so we are excited to share any sort of advice on activities and sightseeing attractions.

A couple of minutes walk from the property on Lake Nakaumi there is beautiful Nagisa Park that has a beach, undercover BBQ facilities, toilets & camping grounds. Right behind the park are multiple walking trails that go over Mt Tokami. 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes ride are the local Izakaya's, Ramen shops & bars of Yasugi. The Wakou museum of steel is a 10 minute ride near Yasugi port. Yasugi Station is a 10 minute walk away allowing easy access to the Shimane capital of Matsue (15min) or Tottori's major city of Yonago (10min). There are multiple Strawberry, grape & mikan picking tours available locally. The Adachi Museum of art with its consecutive award winning Japanese garden is a quick free bus ride from Yasugi Station. Kiyomizu-dera & Gassan Castle ruins are both beautiful and historically significant areas to visit in Yasugi.
