Set 328 feet from Biwa Lake, Hamakogetsu has public and private reservable hot-spring baths. Providing free Wi-Fi, it offers massages and a free shuttle service from JR Nagahama Station, a 7-minute walk away. Each air-conditioned room includes mats for sleeping and a spacious Japanese-style seating area. A private bathroom provides free toiletries. Some rooms overlook the lake and have an open-air bath. Breakfast is a set menu of Japanese dishes and a multi-course kaiseki dinner is on offer. There is a drinks vending machine and barbecue facilities are available in summer. Nagahama Castle Historical Museum, with its pagoda-style roof, is on the other side of the road, a 5-minute walk away. Kurokabe Square is a 10-minute walk.
