After driving for about 10 minutes while watching jumbo jets taking off and landing, the houses begin to thin out, and a rural landscape of fields and farmland stretching to the foot of the mountains comes into view. In about 20 minutes, you’ll reach the area near your “destination.” Slow down and turn right at the entrance to a mountain road, and shortly afterward, you will arrive at iRest Village Narita. Straight ahead is the main house, to the right is a detached building (the caretaker’s residence), and to the left is a warehouse. Note: The front yard can accommodate 2–3 parked cars. The main house, which serves as the accommodation, is a traditional Japanese-style farmhouse crafted by local artisans. The guest rooms are in a purely Japanese-style zone. You’ll be captivated by the yukimi-shoji (sliding paper doors with viewing windows) separating the hallway and tatami room, the tokonoma alcove and shelves, and the exquisitely detailed kumiko latticework shoji screens. Here, you can truly enjoy the beauty of traditional Japanese architecture. Meanwhile, the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet are in the modern amenities zone. We have fully renovated these with a brand-new system kitchen, a unit bath with a spacious tub, and a washlet toilet. It features the Japanese restaurant Orize, which specializes in traditional fermented cuisine using koji (a key ingredient in Japanese fermentation).
