Founded in 1922, Kappo Ryokan Wakamatsu is a ryokan featured in the Michelin Hokkaido Guide. Through Michelin starred Japanese Kaiseki cuisine, it is the best way to understand the Japanese culinary art. During the Showa era, Wakamatsu was the designated ryokan for the emperor when he visited Hakodate. Situated by the sea, here at the ryokan, you may enjoy Japanese style natural hot spring, onsen, while adoring the breath taking ocean view.

The property is within a 15mins walk of Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden where it’s famous for the onsen monkeys and Yukura Shrine. Guests may enjoy Sakura in May and ski in the winter. Hakodate Racecourse and Hakodate Velodrome are also within 2mins.
