Since the owner is a young woman with international travel experience, the Katsuo Guest House was especially made with safety and cleanliness in mind, with the hope that female travelers will feel comfortable. The guesthouse’s owner “Maki-san” is very proud of the role that the Katsuo fish has had in Kochi’s history and is happy to share as Kochi’s informal ambassador!　The landlady, who was a former deputy editor of a local town magazine, can provide information on local specialty food such as seared katsuo. This is a delicious benefit only available to travelers at the guest house.

Learn about the culture of Kochi in this owner-built guesthouse! Each room has been designed with a different theme in mind, so you are guaranteed to have an interesting stay! The guesthouse has two sites: a Japanese-style wing and a Western-style wing. The Japanese wing was opened in 2012 as the first guesthouse in Kochi. The newly built Western wing is the product of a collaboration by several local designers and artists – now well-known for its large glass window of swimming Katsuo fish. ※Please could we ask for your prior understanding of the condition of our guest house; we don’t have any interior noise proofing. Therefore, we request all our customers observe the curfew/no noise times, please abide by this condition and be patient with the other guests. We hope you accept this condition and enjoy the stay as an opportunity to expand your community.
