Gekkō-an welcomes you to a traditional Kyoto townhouse (kyomachiya), officially designated by the City of Kyoto and with a history spanning 138 years, comprising two distinct properties — the East Building Garden Suite and the West Building Luxury Suite. (Please note that the facilities differ between the two properties, so we recommend checking the images in advance.) Both buildings use only natural, hand-applied plaster walls—no wallpaper is used—and each wall is designed with specific beneficial properties, creating a safe, chemical-free environment with zero detectable formaldehyde for your stay at Gekkō-an. West Building The West Building combines traditional craftsmanship with modern comfort. Every detail, including the semi-open stone radium onsen, reflects centuries-old techniques. Gekkou-an is located 7 minute walk from JR Nijo and Subway Nijo Station. There is a quiet residential area. Great access to all major sightseeing spots and downtown area. There are several restaurant with a famous and popular. Especially ''YAKINIKU RESUTANT'' is recommended which has name recognition. We will help the reservation. There are everything within 10 min walk. Supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores, liquor store, movie theater, bicycle rental,etc.. Night holiday clinics to cope with foreigners is available for 24 hours. It sits quietly and elegantly in the center of Kyoto. You can rent a whole house, feel like living in Kyoto.
