The property is in a quiet location with a peaceful shrine just up the hill, but still close enough to visit all the attractions in the Tono area easily by bike or car. The host is very gracious and is an excellent chef. We had delicious venison...

I loved this stay in the country, and the host is super friendly. But note this is a very special kind of stay. Not a hotel or guest house, but basically a private house next to the house where the host lives. It is in the country and reasonably...

Private Traditional Farmhouse Stay in Tono – Storytelling & Sauna Experience Escape to a private traditional Japanese farmhouse in the countryside of Tono. Limited to one group per day, this is a fully private and peaceful stay. Experience authentic rural Japan: Traditional storytelling (Tono Folktales) by a local storyteller Wood-fired sauna surrounded by nature Bonfire under a sky full of stars Quiet life with no city noise The host is a certified storyteller, sharing stories passed down through generations. Perfect for: ✔ Cultural travelers ✔ Nature lovers ✔ Couples, families, and private retreats Please note: Located in a rural area (no nearby shops) Car recommended Limited public transportation
Your host is a local storyteller who shares traditional folktales passed down through generations in Tono. He enjoys connecting with guests from around the world and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere around the fire. During your stay, you can experience storytelling by the fireside and learn about the deep cultural heritage of this region.
There are rape blossom fields and cosmos fields near the inn. Famous spots from The Tales of Tono are nearby. My recommendation is Tsunagu Inari Shrine, which is located right behind Lien Tono. There is a quaint shrine at the top of 100 granite stone steps, and it is a power spot. I would love for you to visit.
