Moomin Farm Our farm, located on the slopes of Mt. Oppadake, was built over the course of 30 years by the owner (Mr. Moomin); he cleared the forest, cultivated the land, carried water from the nearby river, built a house with stones and raised animals. He and his family have been living on this land since well before Okinawa, ecotourism and country-side became popular and fashionable. Which is why people consider Moomin Farm to be Okinawa’s original guest house. Accommodation at Moomin Farm is farm-stay style. Enjoy an uncontaminated world far removed from the city, among stunning mountain scenery and pure air. Overnight stay in the dormitory in the farm’s main building. Private room with double bed. Private bungalow sleeping up to 8-10 people, complete with kitchen We offer different accommodation options depending on the purpose of your trip. All of above were built by hand by Mr. Moomin, the owner. Long-term visitors are also welcome (please let us know beforehand). Check-in time is flexible, but we’d appreciate if you could reach the farm by 8 pm at the latest. Advance booking is required.

At Moomin Farm we also offer horse-back riding (horse trekking). Don’t hesitate to ask us about the many options available! We offer one-day rides, half-day rides, hands-on riding for children and more. The one-day riding option includes swimming with your horse in the sea or horse-rekking along forest trails. We believe it will be the best memory of your trip to Okinawa! Away from the city, far from the crowds, our farm is deal for those who want to relax immersed in nature while listening to the sounds of insects, frogs and birds. On the other hand, our lodge is not really recommended for those seeking an aseptic and sanitzed space (like an hotel), or have an aversion to insects. Group accommodation for up to 20 people and staging of special events are also possible. If you wish, you can also plan indipendent activities like camping and workshops during your stay at the farm. Access Our farm is not particular easy to find and it can only be reached by car. If you are coming for the first time, make sure to come before nightfall. You should’t trust car navigation systems installed in rental cars (as they have led visitors to different places) and we recommend using Google Maps (search for “Moomin Farm (夢有民牧場 )). If you come by long-distance bus, get off at "Nakijin’s Town Hall" bus stop (“Nakijinson Yakuba”).
