Hi! My name is Satako, I am the owner. My husband and I run this ryokan. I have learned Cha-do (the tea ceremony) and Ikebana(flower arrangement)for many years, we make the atmosphere of our ryokan more traditional, more relaxing. I am the Kyoto Hospitality Concierge appointed by Kyoto-city, I can introduce you the tourist information to help your travel more efficiently and better understanding of Kyoto history and culture. I hope you have a great stay in our ryokan!

Property info

Welcome to our traditional Japanese ryokan, a beautifully restored Kyoto MACHIYA architecture. We hope your stay with us will be a special opportunity to experience Japanese culture through our tea ceremony, Japanese bath, and homemade breakfast while wearing a yukata (traditional loungewear). To enjoy everything at a relaxed pace, we recommend arriving early enough in the evening to take part in the tea ceremony and enjoy the bath before settling in for the night. Our ryokan is located in the northwest area of Kyoto, close to Kamishichiken, Kyoto's oldest geisha district. We are also within walking distance of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (10 minutes) and Nijo Castle (20 minutes), with convenient access to famous attractions such as Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion) and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Please note that our ryokan is a renovated 140-year-old wooden machiya. While we have made every effort to provide a comfortable stay, traditional wooden buildings are not fully soundproof, and sounds from outside traffic and neighboring rooms can be heard. If you are very sensitive to noise or require complete silence to sleep comfortably, our ryokan may not be the best choice for your stay. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and hope you will enjoy the unique atmosphere, history, and charm that only a traditional Kyoto machiya can offer. Our entire team looks forward to welcoming you and will do our very best to make your stay a memorable one.
