Property info

Utahi is located at the back of the flagship store of a ceramic shop SIONE. This accommodation is under the same roof as the ceramic workshop space and the shop, as well as the residence of the owner’s family. The bathroom is shared with the owner's family. Through your stay at Utahi, we hope you will have the opportunity to connect with the owner’s family, our staff, and the local community. Our inn is nestled at the foot of Mt. Nyoigatake—also known as Mt. Daimonji—within easy reach of Ginkaku-ji. Behind the SIONE craft brand shops, you will find our inn—a space where thoughtfully selected crafts and artworks can be appreciated. Our guiding concept is “to open one’s senses.” During your stay, you may enjoy tea and encounter each vessel through all five senses. Designed in collaboration with spatial designer Mariko Mizumura, we sought to create a gentle and calming space. The area around Utahi is rich in beautiful scenery and culture, with temples such as Ginkaku-ji and charming local bakeries to explore. May your time here gently fill your heart with a quiet sense of richness, and bring you back to yourself. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
