Jungletide is a homestay with a sprawling garden and outdoor pool in the Hantana hills above Kandy. Offering private rooms with a veranda, the property provides free WiFi in the common areas and free private parking. Driver accommodations is provided at a surcharge. Company info

We're an English couple but Sally was brought up in Sri Lanka in a tea planting family. We brought up a large family and now have several grandchildren - we love kids. We moved from the UK to live at Jungle Tide in October 2015. Jungle Tide is especially good for families and for older adventurers.

Property info

Jungle Tide is modern but designed using the principles of traditional planter bungalows - high ceilings, wide shady verandah. The huge gardens have a stream, large swimming pool and are full of birds and wildlife. Rooms have top quality furniture. We are easy-going and comfortable rather than luxury. Great home cooking (Sri Lankan and international), lots of free advice and help with your holiday, family friendly with indoor and outdoor games. We are 35 minutes out of the crowds and pollution of Kandy in the Hanthana mountains. The last 500m of road are not surfaced but accessible for almost any vehicle. However we suggest you arrange transport through us or contact us if you have hired a tour driver.

Neighborhood info

Uduwela is a typical Sri Lankan tea estate village in the hills above Kandy, set in beautiful mountain scenery with excellent walking and trekking for all abilities, and friendly people. The Sri Lanka Tea Country Trail (Pekoe Trail)- a 300km long distance hiking route - starts close to Jungle Tide. We work to support needy local people by donating 10%n of our room income to providing food and other essentials, fundraising though all our worldwide contacts, and supporting a local charity - the TEA Project - empowering tea pickers and their children. Come to Jungle Tide and experience Sri Lankan village life, off the beaten track but still near to Kandy.
