Perched high on the mountain, I marveled at the breathtaking vista where the river wound its way through the valley below, creating a picturesque scene that seemed straight out of a postcard.
I was professor in geology at the University of Peradeniya, now retired and working as a visiting lecturer at postgraduate level. We have setup the new homestay in Gatambe, Kandy, Sri Lanka and receiving guests from all over the world. The Rock Edge Residence is located in a beautiful site by the longest river of Sri Lanka, Mahaweli, on a rock cliff. It has four excellent rooms and an excellent view.
The moment you step into this neighborhood, you're greeted by a palpable sense of community and warmth. Lined with tree-shaded streets and well-maintained homes, it's clear that the residents take pride in their surroundings
