The Nest is a very simple clean little guest house running by us as a family. It is located exactly 2 kilo meters distance from the job Mahiyangana town on Padiyathalawa road. We are maintaining the same standard but keep on updating since twenty three years time. We have five spacious and comfortable rooms with attached bathrooms and toilets with Air-condition on request. Every room has a veranda facing the spacious garden with many plants and trees. We have a nice open restaurant only for house guests. We can satisfy you with delicious meals from breakfast to dinner on your request. If you like you can join with us in cooking. You will feel like your home as soon as you enter our place. Mahiyangana is still not touristic center but according to our long time experience in tourism we always try to take good care of our guests.

Mahiyangana is still not very touristic. But it has a very good ancient historical value. There are several places with high interest. The most popular eighteen hair-pin bends road towards to Kandy is thirteen kilo meters from Mahiyangana. The whole area is filled with wonderful nature. *Holy temple where Gauthama Buddha have visited from India 2500 years ago is one of the main historical attractions. *Veddha native tribe living in the jungle 17 kilo meters away from us. They are part of Srilanka history. If you are interested you can visit them and there is a museum + information center you can see there history. *Historical Sorobora tank is another location to visit. Very close to our place. Boat ride with the sunrise on this lake is really beautiful. Especially for bird watching. *Rathna waterfall is another attraction You have to walk through the countryside rice fields with nature to watch this waterfall. Afternoon safari tour to *Wasgomuwa National park is possible. This park is popular for giant elephants. Most important facility is Mahiyangana is a excellent and easy center point to reach several other touristic destinations. To Kandy, Polonnaruwa, Ella mountains are under hundred kilo meters. Arugam bay for surfing (east coast) and to the down south beaches are not that far. Does not matter either you travel by a private car or public transport it is very easy. Therefor when you consider all these things it is worth visiting Mahiyangana.
