Nice an cozy little apartment. At the start made it for myself, but now I'm renting it out. It has lime plaster so it feels unconventional and cozy. Despite it being located in the heart of Āgenskalns, it's very quiet in it, because the windows face garden. It has no air conditioning, but it still has perfect microclimate in summers because of the thick walls of the house witch was built in the time of Latvian first independence (in 1930ties). Apartment is located on the first floor.
Āgenskalns is Rigas most popular neighborhood, because of it's wooden architecture, location- it's located near old town and Āgenskalns market. Open since 1898, Āgenskalns market is the largest and oldest market on the left bank of the Daugava River and holds the status of a national cultural monument. From 2018 to 2022, the market’s historical pavilion underwent an extensive renovation and now everyone is invited to observe the impressive results after the restoration. On the first (ground) floor of the renovated pavilion, farmers and home producers offer a wide variety of produce, – here, the customers can find both well-known and brand-new producers. The second floor is the place to enjoy a meal and drinks in the lively market atmosphere. The market is open daily. Āgenskalns market is an inclusive and versatile public space, hosting a wide variety of cultural, educational, and other events throughout the year - musical concerts, art and theater performances, circus and festivals, masterclasses, cooking workshops, etc. The flea market in the courtyard happens each Sunday. Maras pond and various parks are also very close to the apartment.
