Riga Academic Guest House is situated in the house built in 1880. In 2017 it has been restored and made comfortable, at the same time historical heritage and functional old-fashioned wooden ovens were preserved. It feels pretty authentic there, apartments are cozy and hygge style. "Hygge" is the Danish concept of creating warmth, connection and well-being. The only house in the yard the Cat enters. We have a backyard Cat, she is self-sufficient and a symbol of the yard. If you are looking for a special, but comfortable place for your stay, you will love Riga Academic Guest House.

Neighborhood info

Riga Academic Guest House is located in the quiet and full of nature Āgenskalns area and nearby the building is well known Āgenskalns Market (Āgenskalna tirgus) where you can spend your time shopping and buying organic products from local Latvian vendors. Also, next to the building is an architectural monument devoted to Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital that can be visited at any time of the day. Relating to the visiting Old Riga, it should be mentioned, that it is 10 minutes away from the house if you are using public transport and trolleybus number 5 stop is directly opposite to the house. But if you are a nature lover and walking enthusiast, you will appreciate the amazing Mara’s Lake and very popular Arkādijas Garden Park that is located only 500m away from us. In the neighbourhood you can also find stylishly made Kalnciema Quarter that is part of unique European wooden architecture heritage and where every Saturday takes place small craft fairs and concerts.
