Located in the heart of Salé’s medina, just a 15-minute walk from the beach, this riad offers air-conditioned rooms and a rooftop terrace with views of the ocean. The riad has a traditional Moroccan décor with mosaic tiles. Guest rooms at the Dar El Mouhit are spacious and feature antique furniture. They each have a private bathroom with a shower and some of the rooms overlook the riad’s terrace. A continental breakfast is served each morning at Dar El Mouhit and upon request guests can also enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner served in the riad’s dining room. The riad offers an interior courtyard, which leads on to several Moroccan-style salons where guests can relax in the evening. One of the salons has satellite TV and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the riad. Salé Train Station is a 5-minute drive away.

Originally from Rabat, we fell completely in love with this traditional riad tucked away in Salé's medina, so much so that we took it over. We're lovingly adding personal touches to it, little by little. In the meantime, it's already a real pleasure to welcome you and share the beautiful medina of Salé with you, its alleys and its authenticity, far from the tourist crowds.

Tucked away in the heart of Salé's medina, Dar El Mouhit is a traditional riad built around a typical patio, where zellige tilework and tadelakt plaster reflect authentic Moroccan craftsmanship. Enjoy breakfast on one of the terraces, with views over the medina rooftops and the ocean, before heading out to explore the alleys. To guide your driver: Dar El Mouhit is located at n°12, Rue Moul Goumri, in Salé's medina. Ask for the Great Mosque of Salé, then continue straight for 50 meters to Pharmacie Fennich. 5 meters further on your right, you'll find the alley. Welcome!

Neighborhood info

The riad sits just steps from the Great Mosque of Salé (Masjid al-Tal'a), one of the largest in Morocco, and the mausoleum of Sidi Abdellah Ben Hassoun, the city's patron saint. Take a short stroll to the Abou el Hassan Medersa, a 14th-century Merenid architectural gem, or to Bab El Mrissa, one of the oldest gates in the country. History lovers will also enjoy Borj Adoumoue, a former pirate stronghold now turned museum. From the medina, a short rowboat crossing or tram ride takes you over the Bouregreg river straight into Rabat's old town, just minutes away.
