In the part of Boka Kotorska Bay, between Topljan and Tivat bay, you can find Kumbor canal that connects them, and the village Kumbor that is only 6km far from Old town Herceg Novi. The name of the city originates from the Italian word conborgo - suburb, because the settlement used to be in the immediate vicinity of the old town Stoli. That term served us to name this over 130 years old house, which once used to be the first school in Kumbor. In this house, school was established during Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1921, and its host was Mr. Niko Matov Dabižinović. School worked until World War II. During that time 64 students attended school where they learned basic literacy and also, craftsmanship. Today in the second decade of 21 st century, house gets its new look. During renovation, we took special care to preserve authenticity of stone and wood that adorns this charming house. Wooden windows and green blinds remind us of coastal style of building in this area. The spacious front terrace with a courtyard provides full privacy to the apartments that come out on it, and there is also the backyard that offers pleasant stay in the shade and sun. Enjoy !

Kumbor is a former military post in Montenegro. Mentioned as Combor in Venetian documents as early as 1785, the town was used by the Austrians, later the Italians and even the Yugoslav Navy Forces. Before the Adriatic Highway was built, the only road that connected all the neighboring villages was the local promenade, a sidewalk that runs along the sea. Today, there is a magnificent tourist complex Portonovi, which is only 200m away from the Conborgo Apartments. Portonovi complex is also home to a Catholic Church with icons painted by one of the most talented painters from the Bay of Kotor—Tripo Kokolja of Perast. There is little knowledge about this data. Fragments are in very poor condition. This artist also painted the inside of the church that sits on the manmade island in front of Perast. In addition, Kumbor is home to several sacramental monuments: -The Church of St. Bogorodica was built in the 18th century by Marko Milinović and its iconostasis is the work of artist Nikola Aspioti. -The Church of St. Nedjelja was also built in the 18th century but it was converted into a Catholic Church by the Venetians and it still stands today. -The Church of St. Nikola
