Originally built in the XVI century, the house was the part of defensive towers network. Beside the fortress of St. Cross, there was a network of individual towers, the “cardaks”, strategically positioned within the town in order to form a reliable system of defense. Only 2 of 10 towers from mentioned period are left. One of those two is Kula Đurišić. In this house lived Major of the Perast city in the 1880s. Its inner was devastated in a strong earthquake in 1979 and was renewed afterward. The house is located in the center of Perast on the waterfront 5 meters from the sea, with two big terraces which afford magnificent view across Kotor bay.
