New comfortable villas located in the most beautiful village in the Balkans according to the famous geographer Jovan Cvijic. Each villa has 3 bedrooms (sleeping up to 6 people), a large living room, and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, and basic cookware. There's a separate bathroom and toilet. Underfloor heating in the bathroom. Mini bar (stocked on request), wood stove for ambiance and supplemental heat in winter, and a large TV with satellite channels. Each villa has 2 terraces - one covered, one open - with views of the 2 glacial lakes and the Durmitor massifs. The terraces are furnished and face south, so you get sun most of the day. We have a restaurant on-site where you can eat without leaving the property. It's open for dinner most evenings in high season (May–September); reservations recommended in shoulder seasons. The food is Montenegrin, homemade, and the terrace views match the villas'. Note: The villas are at 1,400 meters. Summers are warm during the day, cool at night. The wood stove and adequate bedding handle this. There's no air conditioning - the altitude makes it unnecessary. Winter is cold and the road can be slow, so plan accordingly. I am from here. I grew up in Šavnik, know these mountains, and know what it takes to run hospitality at this altitude and distance from everything else. I built these villas because I wanted to offer a home to people who want to genuinely experience this place. That means clean rooms, real comfort, and someone who can tell you which trail goes where, which restaurant isn't on Google yet, which mornings have the best light. We run the restaurant because cooking is how we show hospitality, and we source locally: cheese from the shepherds we know, vegetables from gardens that actually exist, meat from animals raised here. If something breaks, we fix it. If you need a recommendation, we've lived it. If you want to sit quietly, we understand that too.

Villas Basovic are located 1.5 km from the main road leading to Žabljak and Belgrade. The approach is gravel road, passable year-round but slower in winter. You're in Pošćenje, considered the most beautiful village in the Balkans, situated at around 1,400 meters on the southern slopes of the mighty Durmitor. The views include two glacial lakes and the Komarnica river cutting through one of Europe's most dramatic canyons. Pošćenje is one of the oldest settlements in Durmitor with traces of Bronze Age life. The village has around 100 permanent residents. Nevidio Canyon, one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe, is only 1 km away and can be reached by walking. Most people go in summer when the water is manageable. Spring and autumn are quieter. Zabljak is 20 km away, the nearest mountain town with supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, and a ski lift in winter. Podgorica airport is 110 km away; the drive takes roughly 2–2.5 hours depending on road conditions. The Bay of Kotor is a 2-hour drive south if you want warmth and sea. There's no supermarket in the village itself so we advise you to stock up in Šavnik or Žabljak. Hiking trails are marked and we can recommend the most beautiful ones. The best seasons are late May through September, though the villas are open year-round. Mobile signal is reliable. We provide free WiFi. Parking is available at the property.
