L’Għarix Temple Retreat is a 750 year old villa, on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Gozo. It is built from the local limestone and is said to be the second oldest house in the town. The interior has been modernized, with the bathrooms recently renovated. L'Gharix is built a hundred metres behind the Ġgantija temples which are recognised by UNESCO as the oldest freestanding buildings in the world. They are over 7,500 years old, older than Stonehenge and the pyramids in Egypt. Visiting the retreat is an opportunity to see the beautiful architecture and deep history of Xagħra. L’Għarix (La Reesh) means “Sanctuary” in Maltese and it is truly a place of healing and relaxation. Immerse yourself in the rustic charm of our traditional farmhouse, nestled in the heart of Gozo. Our beautiful rooms, each uniquely adorned with natural stone, exude a warm and inviting ambiance that promises a tranquil stay. Guests have a private bedroom and bathroom with its own private balcony. The bedroom has it's own external entrance via a private stairway and the balcony Every room is equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning, ensuring your utmost comfort. A dedicated coffee and tea section is available, allowing you to enjoy a quiet moment with a hot beverage at any time of the day. We take pride in our meticulous daily room service, ensuring a clean and fresh environment for our guests. Step outside your room and you'll be greeted by our enchanting garden for relaxation. Unfortunately the rest of the house (kitchen and living areas) is off-limits to guests as the owner lives on the property. Guests can make use of the swimming pool, sun loungers and cave when not in use by clients. Minimum of 2 nights Please note: The sleigh bed is not suitable for someone whose height is above 185 cm, as the mattress is 190 cm.

Picturesque ix-Xagħra has a particularly rich historical heritage with many historical sites, several museums, beaches, hiking trails, shopping, ocean excursions and more. L'Gharix is a 10-minute walk from the town square which has lovely restaurants & bars.
