Running four successful holiday rentals in St. Julians area for the past few years, my dream was to offer a different type of accommodation for guests looking for a more tranquil, more local experience when visiting Malta, even just for a few days. We wanted a cross between a guest house, a small boutique hotel and a self-catering apartment in a beautiful location. As a locality, Rabat & Mdina fit the bill perfectly. And when we saw the charming house, we immediately fell in love with it. And Maleth Inn was born.. 'Maleth' being the old name given to the ancient city of Mdina under the Phoenicians, after which the city then fell under the Roman and later the Byzantine empire, until it was captured and destroyed by an Arab dynasty. The city was then rebuilt and renamed Medina, giving rise to the present name Mdina. Please note there is no reception desk at the guest house. You will be given access codes to enter the property and your reserved room. When possible, I like to personally welcome guests on their arrival or at an agreed time the next day, and I am always available should they have any queries. My greatest satisfaction is having my guests say they had a perfect stay.

Experience an authentic Maltese townhouse that has been transformed into an upmarket guest house, in an excellent location right outside the fortified hill-top settlement of Mdina, the Silent City. The house is located 5 minutes walk from Mdina gate, just across the street from Howard Gardens, a public landscaped garden offering good sight-seeing spots on one end, a kiosk and plenty of benches to sit and relax in the shade of the trees. One minute walk away is the Rabat Bus Interchange. Also a few minutes walk away from many fine restaurants and bars, shops, baker, pharmacy, banks, souvenir shops, fine clothing and jewellery. The alley on the first corner will take you into a labyrinth of alleys where you can get a glimpse of the locals’ daily life and activities in the heart of Rabat. The location is only 5km away from Dingli Ciffs and 10km away from the nicest beaches on the island Ghajn Tuffieha Bay, Golden Bay, Popeye's Village and Mellieha Bay. Mdina is one of Europe’s finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. Rabat, the village that neighbours Mdina, on the other hand, is known for its quiet, more rural character & natural beauty, but also notably for its archaeological and historical sites, amongst which The Roman Villa (Domus Romana), catacombs, St. Paul's Grotto and the fine churches and monasteries.
