Norfolk Suites occupies a 19th-century Sliema townhouse that stood abandoned for decades before being carefully brought back to life. The restoration kept everything worth keeping — original Maltese floor tiles, restored wooden louvers, limestone travertine finishes — and added everything a modern guest actually needs. The result is a building that feels genuinely old and genuinely comfortable at the same time. Each suite is fully self-catering, fitted with a Swiss Kitchoo kitchen — a compact, state-of-the-art unit with an induction hob, refrigerator, and everything needed to cook properly. There is no compromise on quality here: the same attention that went into restoring the building went into specifying the kitchens. Bathrooms are private and ensuite. The building uses presence-sensor lighting throughout common areas and water-saving fixtures — small details that reflect a considered approach to how the property was put together. With only four suites in the building, the atmosphere is quiet and personal. There are no group bookings, no events, and no busy hotel lobby. Guests have the building largely to themselves. Check-in is via smartlock — your code arrives by email before you travel. No lift; the building is heritage-listed and the staircase is original. A ground-floor suite with private street entrance is available for guests who prefer no stairs.
