Our story began in the Northeast US where we met and lived for over 10+ years. We connected over our love of creating spaces through aesthetics and hospitality from which this Boutique concept was born. We moved to the Yucatan peninsula in early 2023 to begin our journey and share this wonderful property with you. Casa Magu by MAGUGOODS is born from the idea that handmade is a legacy worth exploring. We are excited for our guest to experience the artisanal items that dress the property in collaboration with artisans from the entire country. Both of our backgrounds in design and culinary hospitality gave us the experience to take on this endeavor. Rene is Mexican and I (Mario) well im a bit from everywhere, cuban, Italian and Venezuelan. We love meeting people from different parts of the world and look forward to connecting with you as a host or traveler. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible!

Step into Casa Magu, a design-forward guesthouse in the heart of Mérida Centro, just an easy walk from Plaza Grande. Set within a thoughtfully restored colonial home, the property blends calm, privacy, and a deep connection to local craftsmanship with every space dressed in handmade artisanal pieces sourced from across Yucatán. Casa Magu offers five private, standalone suites, each facing the garden or pool for a peaceful, retreat-like feel. All suites feature king-size beds, private bathrooms, and their own breakfast nook, along with a minibar and microwave for added comfort and ease. At the center of the home, a lush tropical garden creates a world of its own. Native trees — mango, lime, and avocado provide shade over quiet reading nooks and flowing fountain features, filling the space with the soft sound of water. The pool, complete with its own water feature, is surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas, inviting slow, sunlit afternoons. Guests can enjoy a full range of shared spaces designed for both connection and relaxation, including an outdoor cocktail bar, BBQ area, pool restroom, and outdoor shower. A covered open-air dining room, as well as a shaded outdoor living area with hammocks and fans, offer the perfect setting to unwind. Inside, a communal air-conditioned lobby and dining space provide a cool, comfortable retreat from the Yucatán sun. With its walkable location, thoughtful design, and serene atmosphere, Casa Magu offers a stay that feels both grounded in place and effortlessly removed from the city’s rhythm a quiet escape just moments from Mérida’s vibrant cultural life.
