What an incredible experience! The host made us feel like we were at home, the hacienda provides a serene beautiful place to relax within it's walls when you need a break from the endless excitement of Mexico, and he is one heck of a cook to boot!...

Casa Xochitl, my home, is the ideal place for adventurous travelers interested in experiencing down to earth Baja culture, exploring the desert and solitary beaches. My B&B is atrium style, built around a laurel tree graced by brick arches and bougainvilleas. This is an atmosphere that embraces Southern Baja's agreeable sub-tropical climate. I’m located 3 blocks down a sandy road off MX 1 on the edge of a laid back colony, a few minutes from solitary beaches and a quick 15 minutes drive to La Paz's Malecón, the longest in all of Mexico. My casa is private and secure with 10' walls completely surrounding it, in an authentic and safe Mexican neighborhood. There are two dining areas, two courtyards, a plunge pool, fish pond and roof top decks for your enjoyment. I serve a full hot breakfast Monday through Saturday at 8:30am, before you leave for your Mexican adventures. You may not need lunch! A rental car is highly recommended in order to experience as much of the greater La Paz area’s offerings as possible!
I love hosting at my very unique hacienda-style casa. I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest, USA but had always enjoyed the Baja and desired a change in my lifestyle. I sure got it, and wish I’d done it earlier! I love getting to wear flip flops and shorts year round, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, swimming, shell collecting, enjoying taking my dogs everywhere, or just taking a siesta at the beach. I’m happy to be a resource for guests regarding places to eat, visit, or experience in order to make their vacation the best it can be. I can be a little social with guests, or quiet and out of their way. I’m super easy going and strive for everyone to enjoy their stay.
I’m on a sandy road, 3 & 1/2 blocks off Hwy. 1 in a small suburb 5 minutes north of La Paz city limits. The neighborhood, El Centenario, is for the traveler that wants to experience real Mexican living, not the all-inclusive resorts that pretend to be Mexico. If you like resorts, you may not want to stay here! There’s quite a few restaurants, food trucks, little stores, road side stands, churches, produce stands all within walking distance. Also, the local beach is 3 KM away. My neighbors are friendly locals that will likely greet you with a smile or wave. I highly recommend a rental car to better explore the area, though there are several ride-share options, taxis and the public bus. If you have questions, feel free to ask!
