We are both misplaced New England'ers having lived in many parts of the world. Our latest home was in Phoenix ,AZ where we lived for 12 years and where we recently celebrated our marriage. Ochenta y Dos [an urban bed & breakfast] has been our labor of love since its inception about 3 years ago. We both are world travelers and wanted to create a space that is appealing to everyone. We feel with each guest the world gets a little smaller and allot more friendlier, both are accomplished cooks and conversationalists. Merida is our home now and our business, we live on property with our collection of rescues, Mini, Max, Mario and Mo all well behaved small dogs that are respectful of all the guests. We live on the edge of the Barrio Santiago one of the more revitalized area of centro Merida. Safe, quiet and a little off the beaten path by a 5 min walk. Our side of town is quieter and offers many local eateries, bars and shops, all with in a short walk. With an organised grid system of the street, Merida is completely walk-able and getting lost very difficult. The local buses and taxis are found easily and very reasonable. Barrio Santa Ana is a great start to your walking and eating tour of Merida, close by within 20 minutes, its the beginning of the famed Paseo Monetjo Boulevard and the edge of the historic center.
