We, Steyn and Florance love to meet new people. We lived abroad for some years. Steyn lived in London as an Airforce Attache and Florance spent many years in Italy and UK. Steyn was born in Windhoek, grew-up on a farm in Namibia, then left to join the South African Air Force as a fighter pilot but he always wanted to come "home" - so - here we are! Florance was born in South Africa, became a Professional Nurse who ended up working in ICU for many yrs. She sees herself as a citizen of planet earth who happened to be born in a specific Country but not restricting her to move around! People often ask us why did we chose Maltahohe to come to stay. We like to think, Maltahohe chose us! After so many years in big cities with lots of noise, rules and regulations going on around us, we found peace here in Maltahohe where we can get in touch, once again, with mother earth in all her splendor. Where walking barefoot in the rain (not so often here! -:) ) once again makes you realize how special it is to just be on this wonderful blue planet of ours. We could once again learn to appreciate the big and small wonders in life - like bright star lit nights and the quiet surroundings.

When you exploring Southern Namibia - going or coming from North, East, South or West then HUDUP Guesthouse is the convenient, affordable, clean and comfortable accommodation for you! We like to think that this is the gateway to places like Sossusvlei, Sesriem, Naukloof Park, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and many other tourist spots. Our property was recently renovated, situated in a quiet area with a garden from where you can enjoy the beautiful star lit nights where you can try to spot the Southern Cross in the sky. Hudup guesthouse is situated on the Southern side of Maltahohe. We are the last building in town,. The Hudup seasonal river bed is about 120 meters from our property. There is not much to see in our town, we are basically a drive through town where you can enjoy a quite evening, maybe under the stars or have a nice BBQ. You will have a good nights sleep before you travel further the next day. Shops and places to eat in our town: Lily Deli Cafe for light meals or breakfast. We have 2 gas stations. Hotel is close to us. Store to buy food and other household products is within walking distance from us.
