Cascade Gardens is owned and run by Sam and Tracey Sheridan, who bring a long history of hospitality on Norfolk Island to the property. That experience shows from the moment you land. Set in manicured gardens on New Cascade Road, Cascade Gardens is a small collection of five self-contained apartments with a beautiful sea view. Every unit faces east across Cascade Valley to the Pacific. There are three one-bedroom apartments, one studio and one two-bedroom, each fully self-contained with a modern kitchen equipped for real cooking rather than reheating. Free unlimited Starlink wifi runs throughout, and most units open onto a private deck with a BBQ. The setting is quiet without being isolated. Burnt Pine and its cafes, shops and restaurants are a level ten minute walk away. The Kingston UNESCO World Heritage area, Emily Bay's calm snorkelling water and the golf course are each about five minutes by car. Car Hire can be arranged with your stay. The address puts you in a useful spot: close enough to town to walk, far enough out that what you hear in the evening is birds rather than traffic. Burnt Pine, Norfolk Island's township, is a level ten minute walk. That's where you'll find the supermarket, the cafes and restaurants, the duty free shops and the post office, and it's the reason guests here rarely feel they need the car for the small things. In the other direction, the road drops down to Cascade Bay, one of the island's two landing places. There's no harbour on Norfolk, so goods still come ashore by lighter, and if a ship arrives while you're staying, the whole island turns out to watch. It's one of those things you can't plan around and always remember. Five minutes by car takes you to Kingston, the UNESCO World Heritage convict settlement, along with the golf course and Emily Bay, whose reef-protected water is the island's best swimming and snorkelling. The national park and the walking tracks through Mount Pitt and Mount Bates are a short drive north, as is Anson Bay and the west coast for sunsets. Almost everything on Norfolk is within fifteen minutes of everything else. What matters is having a base that's quiet, central and pointed at a good view, and this one is all three.
