Situated in Balgue, Ananda Guesthouse features accommodation with seating area. The property has lake and garden views, and is 12 km from Maderas Volcano. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Some units in the guest house have private entrance and are fitted with desk and dressing room. Each unit is fitted with a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, while some rooms are fitted with a balcony and others also feature mountain views. We have lived on the island since 2007 and founded Totoco Eco-lodge, Xalli Beach Hotel and now Ananda Guesthouse. We are focused on offering guests the most comfortable stay on the island that is also highly sustainable!

We are slowly realizing our dream of creating a luxury off-grid boutique guest house on the incredible island of Ometepe. Part of our dream is to have numerous edible organic gardens around the property. We give priority to the creation of ecologically sound processes to minimize our footprint this includes deriving 100% of our energy needs from the sun, solar heated hot water, using bio-digestors to process our black water, gray water leech fields, LED lighting used throughout, organic farming, 100% local labor.

We are located in the quaint village of Balgue which has a population of +/-6,000 people and is is located on the Maderas Volcano side of the island. Surprisingly the village has a some truly incredible restaurants and local comedors. Balgue is developing into one of the main tourist hubs on the island due to its friendly people, wonderful location to hikes, access to coffee plantations, cultural importance and abundance of flora and fauna.
