Even the heating adds to the experience: the chalet is warmed by a traditional old-fashioned wall heater, giving it a nostalgic and cosy character during colder days. Right next to the chalet you’ll find beautiful forests and nature areas, ideal for walking, cycling or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. After a long walk, you can relax with a warm shower and settle down for a cosy evening with Netflix or other streaming services via the Chromecast or media box provided. On sunny days, the outdoor space is a lovely place to relax. Put the table outside for breakfast, lunch or dinner in the fresh air, or enjoy the sunshine from one of the two garden chairs. The internet connection is stable and fast, so you can stay connected whenever needed. The chalet is located in the province of Drenthe, a region famous for its untouched nature, peaceful countryside and picturesque villages. From here, you can explore vast forests, heathlands and scenic roads that are perfect for hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists alike. One of the absolute highlights nearby is the area around the Gasterse Duinen and Gasstelte-Tenijerveen — considered by many to be one of the most beautiful natural spots in Europe. Expect stunning landscapes, quiet winding roads and endless opportunities to enjoy nature at your own pace. The chalet is also conveniently located near the cities of Assen (about 20 minutes by car) and Groningen (around 30–40 minutes away), making day trips, shopping and dining easily accessible while still enjoying complete tranquillity in nature.

My name is Ab Merrouni, and I decided to rent out this chalet because I felt it would be a shame to keep such a beautiful place all to myself. The peace, nature and unique atmosphere of the area make this a wonderful escape from the stress and busyness of everyday life — and I wanted others to experience that as well. Over the past months, I have carefully renovated and refreshed the chalet. Everything has been made clean, comfortable and welcoming again, while intentionally preserving its simple and nostalgic charm. That is exactly what makes this place special: it is not a luxury resort, but a cosy retreat where you can truly relax and enjoy nature. I believe it is important that guests feel welcome and leave with great memories of their stay. Whether you come for hiking, cycling, motorcycle touring, or simply to slow down and do absolutely nothing for a while, I hope you will enjoy the peace and surroundings here just as much as I always do.
