The Cell is special because of its history, as it is the island's former police station. The accommodation served as a police station until 1970, including one cell where people could be held overnight, usually to sleep off the alcohol intoxication. The bars in front of the 2 high windows and the serving hatch to the sleeping area are a reminder of this. The concrete bed that was still in the sleeping area has been replaced by 2 comfortable box-spring beds. De Cel is now a modern furnished cozy small holiday home, very suitable for 1 or 2 persons and fully equipped. Much privacy around the house. Very centrally located. A wonderful base for a summer beachday or a warm homecoming after a winter walk. When I receive your reservation through Booking I will send you a message with the request to transfer the total amount to me no later than one month before arrival.

De Cel is centrally located near the village, the forest (5 min. walk) and the beach (20 min. walk). It is a 20-minute walk from the boat, the bus stops right outside. From de Cel you walk directlyl into the village where there are many cozy restaurants and shops. Pizzeria across the street. Ameland is best discovered by bicycle. You can bring your own or rent it from one of the bicycle rental companies. It is possible to store your bicycles at De Cel and charge it if necessary.
