We are Aernout & Céline Since December 2020 we’re the proud owners of Hoeve de Knol, a beautiful farmhouse with a lot of history. We’re especially proud that we, together with our children, can continue the history and in the meantime share the joy of our venue with our guests. We are originally from the west of The Netherlands but moved here for Hoeve de Knol. Céline has studied Hospitality Management in Amsterdam and The Hague and has worked for over 15 years in restaurants and hotels. With her experience, she is the dedicated person to organize your stay, your party, event or meeting. Whether it’s 10 or 500 guests, Céline is here to take work out of your hands and make your stay unforgettable. Aernout has an IT background and is busy with maintenance and continuous improvements of our venue. Aside from that, he is in charge of Hoeve de Knol’s Administration and IT and he is our CLO (Chief Lawn Officer).

Hoeve de Knol - Green, Relaxed & Comfortable On the edge of the provinces Limburg and Brabant, surrounded by meadow and forest, is the small village of Holthees. This village, in the area of river The Maas, is where Hoeve de Knol is located. An estate from olden days that served as a resting place for the horses of the nearby located Castle Makken. Nowadays the old horse barn is transformed into a comfortable group accommodation where freedom and respect for nature are thought of highly. Holthees was founded around a Middle Age chapel that was mentioned for the first time back in 1359. The Maria chapel that is still here in the centre of the village dates back to the 16th century. Maasduinen National Park De Maasduinen is unique because it’s the longest riverdune of The Netherlands. They are created because of a playful collaboration between water, wind and humans throughout the centuries. Because of this, a beautiful National Park was established. Liberty Park Overloon War should belong in a museum. That is the motto of the Warmuseum in Overloon. The museum presents the history of the Second World War. You’ll see how it has come this far that in five years, fifty million people have lost their lives, but also how inventive the suppressed people were. Naturally, there is also attention for the liberation, with special attention to the Battle of Overloon. Nijmegen Wisdom comes with age. In the oldest town of The Netherlands they know this very well. They also know what ‘gezelligheid’ is!
