Hans Brimi and Ola Tangvik are the hosts at Brimi Seter. Hans, a chef, brings both culinary delights and folk music to the farm, while Ola, a mason and builder, has been central to the development of the farm. Together, they ensure an authentic and lively farm experience with cheese making and traditional crafts. Life at Brimi Seter is a close-knit and cooperative effort. Every summer, we are joined by many skilled local youths who take care of both people and animals, carrying the mountain farm culture forward to new generations. We ourselves live at the farm from June to the end of October each year. We milk the cows twice a day and process the milk into cheese and other farm products, just as generations before us have done. Brimi Seter has been in traditional operation for as long as anyone can remember. The house we call Gamle seterstugu is likely from the 1500s–1600s and has over the centuries housed milkmaids, servants, mythical huldra, and fairy folk.

Every summer, we bring our animals to the mountain farm, where you as a guest can experience traditional mountain farming surrounded by the beautiful nature around us. Enjoy homemade food in our farm café during the day and purchase local products in our shop. At Brimi Seter, we have a lovely farmyard where guests can enjoy the view, watch the animals, or relax with a cup of coffee or a drink. Here, you can truly unwind and soak in the atmosphere of a lively mountain farm. Every evening during the summer, we offer our popular signature menu, a unique 4-course dinner in our beautiful barn restaurant, known as the Skråpå-tå menu. At Brimi Seter, we offer accommodation in 9 bunks in the barn, 3 lavvus, and 3 farmhouses, where we rent out rooms individually. In total, we have 11 rooms. All guests share bathrooms with others on the farm. We are open every day from June 17 to August 23, or on weekends in spring and autumn. Usually, we offer package stays at the farm, including accommodation and various meals, but here on Bookingcom, we have listed accommodation including breakfast. Therefore, it is important that you contact us to reserve a place for dinner if you wish to enjoy the Skråpå-tå menu. We serve it at 6:30 PM every evening during the summer. During our evening Skråpå-tå menu, you will hear the hosts share more about the area, its history, fascinating old discoveries, as well as songs or fiddle tunes. Brimi Seter offers an authentic experience of mountain farm life, with live animals, its own cheese dairy, traditional food production, and an atmosphere filled with history and culture. There are several beautiful hikes to choose from, both flat and steep, right outside the farm gate.
