The house was rebuilt and extended in 2013, all furniture and appliances are new. There is a terrace facing towards south and west with tables, benches and possibilities for barbecue. The courtyard has room for parking cars. The hallway on ground level has heated tiled floor and room for outdoor clothing and shoes. A shoe-dryer is available. There is a staircase from the hallway up to the main level. On the main level there is an open plan living room/dining room/kitchen with a high ceiling. There is a cosy living room with armchairs and a couch. The windows in the living room/dining room/kitchen face the ocean and give you a magnificent view of the midnight sun. Wi-Fi is free of charge, the TV has access to a variety of channels. The kitchen is modern with all facilities/equipment (stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kitchen fan, baby chair) and a dining table. The house has two bedrooms on the main level and one on the loft, six beds in total. In addition, a baby cot is available. All the bedrooms have windows that can be opened. There are chests of drawers and warddrobe facilities in all bedrooms.The bathroom has heated tiled floor, hairdryer, washing machine.

Bø is my place of birth and Hovden is my family's favourite resort Hovden is an old fishing community located close to the large fishing fields outside Vesterålen. Here, stock fish is produced at a large scale, mainly for the Italian marked. During the period January - April, there is winter fishing with teeming life with boats leaving for the fishing fields and returning with their catch to the factory. The fish is then put up outside to dry. Here, the delicacies from the sea are close by, like winter cod with liver, roe and tongues.

If you visit Hovden in Bø in Vesterålen you will experience the quick shifts of nature, the light and the intense colours. The location offers a fantastic view of the ocean. Hovden is also known for its panoramic view of the midnight sun and of the northern lights during the autumn and winter. Hovden offers great opportunities for an active outdoor life such as hiking and fishing in both the sea and in lakes. A small dip in the clear, cold sea after the hike is for the brave, but it can be recommended. Since Hovden is located directly by the open ocean, it is important to possess solid boating skills in order to use a boat here. Hovden has three beautiful white sand beaches. There are surprisingly many varieties of flowers here despite the harsh climate. For ex., there are cloudberries close to the shore in July/Aug. During the winter fishing i February - April the light slowly returns. The coulors in the nature has violet hue and is a fantastic experiance. On the local breakwater, there is an art installation called RÆK III. The island Frugga is located just outside Hovden and it is a part of a nature reserve. The island is protected from access because puffins nest here.
