Dear Guests, Welcome to the Heartbreak Hotel – your unique and different kind of hotel in the heart of Heidal. Immerse yourself in the history and charm of our Heartbreak Hotel, a lovingly preserved gem dating back to 1898, nestled in the picturesque Heidal valley. This house, built in the traditional Swiss style, radiates a homely warmth that immediately captivates every visitor. Here you will not find luxury or grandeur, but simply and comfortably furnished rooms where you will instantly feel at home. Wi-Fi and internet TV are, of course, available, so that even in bad weather you can relax and enjoy your own Netflix account. We have deliberately chosen not to provide traditional TV channels – with us, nature, peace, retreat, and genuine interaction are the true focus. Due to ongoing renovations on the top floor of our traditional hotel, we will be offering limited services during the 2026 season. This includes the following: No kitchen service (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). The reception will largely be unattended, and guests will be able to complete a self check-in. Nevertheless, our accommodation remains fully available for our traveling guests as a place to rest and relax. The renovation work will not disturb our guests during the evening hours. Just 10 minutes by car from our hotel, you will find a wonderful bakery as well as a restaurant available to you. Our dining room may also be used for the consumption of food brought by guests. In the meantime, if you are looking for a meal, we are happy to recommend two excellent places nearby: – Heidal Ysteri: a charming, local bakery with fresh baked goods (approx. 8 km away) – Banken Restaurant: a cozy restaurant offering regional cuisine (also approx. 8 km away) Thank you very much.

In the wider surroundings, the hotel is situated right between Norway’s two largest national parks – Rondane and Jotunheimen. Both offer endless landscapes and countless opportunities for excursions, and we are happy to recommend something suitable for you on-site.
