Aurora Lodge Helligskogen is a cozy, family-run lodge located near the Finnish border in the scenic Skibotn Valley, Storfjord municipality, Troms. The lodge is housed in a beautiful log building originally constructed in 1937 as a customs station and residence. **History & atmosphere** Helligskogen Mountain Lodge has a long history dating back to 1846, when it was first established under its Finnish name *Pyhaouta*, meaning “the Holy Forest.” The traditional wood-fired sauna located in the courtyard is the oldest building on the property and is beautifully built from hand-hewn logs. The sauna is self-service and must be heated by guests.
