"Gildes vollen" is a nature protected place in a beautiful location and it is half an hour walk to Ringebu. The couple who owns the house also has their own woodcarving shop with sales. It is only a short walk down to the fishing river Gudbrandsdalslågen. For mountain walks you can either walk or drive about 12 km to get up the mountain. Ringebu center with many stores is not far away. In Kvitfjell, which is about 30 min drive away, you can go skiing. There is also a good starting point for rafting in the river Sjoa.
